Hawaiian Tiki Bar....in Portugal?!

As if a full day wine tasting and island exploration tour isn’t enough, we take a quick break upon return and head out via vans to the first, and only, Tiki Bar on Madeira.  The lovely couple who built and owns this special little place have opened especially for us this Tuesday night.  Up to the rooftop, and oh my, how to make a decision from the speciality drink menu?  Will it be according to the drink itself?  The container it is served in?  The name of the drink?  The number of people it serves?  Or...maybe just the ingredients?  Oh, or, alcohol or no alcohol....that’s a choice too!

Our fearless leader, Lynette, has arranged for boxed salad dinners for each of us.  Not that we needed more food after this busy day!  We enjoy the company of Margaret and Joe from Colorado, who we met last summer at a ukulele event on Cortes Island, British Columbia.  You just never know where you will find your ukulele community peeps next!

Ahhh, haaa....the actual “Ukulele Cocktail”.....for four!

Myrna and Susie give it a try.  It’s two thumbs up...or...actually, four!

Too good to pass up this photo op....right?!

I order something with coconut, mint and rum. (Hold the umbrella)....It’s GREAT!

I told you it was GREAT!

Joe Souza and the family show up and it’s time for some ukulele strumming....

Margaret, Diane and Susie join in...

Then...Lynette brings out the “Ukulele Jacket”....you too can wear the jacket...wherever you are in the world.  Prerequisite.....you play the ukulele!
Easy to find folks around here for a photo in the jacket and then...just like that you are on the Facebook Page: I Wore the Ukulele Jacket!  Here’s Joe, Lynette and Kristen.

Steve’s turn!

You know I did not pass up this opportunity!  No sir-ree!

It’s a wonderful evening, up high on a Madeiran hillside, with friends old and new, and...ukulele music all around!
