A low pressure system is chasing the Prinsendam across the North Atlantic and after three days the Captain makes the decision to change course and continue on, sometimes with a speed of nearly 20k, in order to stay ahead of the storm. Landing at Horta would not be possible, so on we go, and four days at sea turn into seven sea days in a row. Ahh, what to do?
Daily stops at the Explorations Cafe for coffee and treats.
Check the hot tubs and enjoy them. Check our progress on the globe.
Each day starts with an "up and at 'em" wake up alarm at o630! We throw on exercise clothes and jog up for a morning coffee starter before meeting up with the fitness instructor for morning exercise and stretch class.
After class it's back up for breakfast and then time to start the day! (Again)!
Now to choose between excellent speakers on geology and geography of the area (including the sea floor!) and economics. Who knew economics could be so interesting? (To be fair, Steve knew)
Time to read, time for the Mariner Brunch, which is a thank you to previous HAL cruisers and time for the Captain's Q. And A..
Time to check the wind and weather....
Time to play the ukulele!
Time for Happy Our in the Crow's Nest. Time to studynup on
N our post cruise destinations and...us, time to do the laundry!
We watch our stateroom animal collection grow as each night we find a different towel critter perched upon our bed. What shall we name them?
We dress up a little....after all...this is the 70/30 Celebration Trip! Happy 70th Birthday and Happy 30th Anniversary!
Not to forget, there is time for the tiny pool on this ship of miniatures....and chess if you like...and how about another miniature dessert?
Somehow seven days at sea melt away and our next port of call...Brest, France, is appearing on the horizon!
The pilot boat pulls alongside and we slip into our berth.
Bonjour, France!!!
