Bonjour, Surprise Port of Brest, France! Part II

After lunch, it's a short drive to the village of Pont-Avon, which exudes charm with a capital "C"!  First off....anyone need to use the WC?  Here "water closet" has a new meaning....check out the town restroom facility, a hold over from days past.  Way way past.

Yes, I have to try it out.  No, it no longer uses the river as a sewer!

As we wander the narrow village streets by the river we find the building where Paul Gauguin lived in his summers by the sea.

And the spot along the River Aven where he set up his easel and painted.  From yester-year...to...

...this year, 2017.

It's easy to find a few scenes I'd like to paint....

But there's no time today.  Not for painting.  Just a few more photos with the trusty iPhone and it's back to the ship for us.  I have the advantage of pulling out my phone and creating some art by looking at a photo, while Monsieur Gauguin had to sit by the river day after day.  But wait...who has the advantage on that one?!

A lovely day...along the coast of France!
