Ukulele Pilgrimage to Maderia

We’re OFF!  This trip has been in the planning for over a year, and today reality sinks in.  We have decided to ace the packing this time with the use of travel backpacks.  We pack, and repack.  We remove items we decide to do without.

We arrive at SeaTac in Seattle with two hours to spare for our flight to Faro, Portugal.  The packs get zipped into travel bags for baggage handling.

Everything seems hunky dory as we send the packs on their way to the airplane hold.

Then we spy the security line!?  Did Travel Agent Nan forget to add the “trusted traveler number” to the ticket purchase?  Appearently so.  The line takes over an hour.  Still an hour until take off.  Whew.

This is our third flight on Norwegian, and we know the routine.  It’s a bus from the gate to the ramp to the plane....way out there in the Land of SeaTac.

We find our seats, stow the Ukuleles overhead and get ready for the next 9 and 1/2 hours of air time.  As in, in-the-Air time!

Yes....

First stop, London Gatwick Airport with a five hour layover, before the flight to Portugal.

See you across The Pond!
