The sunset is awesome! But the last two days are, "on the edge of cold." We pile on jackets over t-shirts and dig around for socks. We are in the midst of a two day wind event....blowing, blowing, blowing right off the sea and into our little camp. Once we watch as our bug tent lifts up like a flying saucer tugging on the lines that anchor it to the bush and sand. Hummingbird food sprays from the feeder, scattering sugared water over the chairs and mat. There will be a big clean up....once the wind stops.
We are also blessed with the four sunny, calm days leading up to Christmas and once again on Christmas Day. Flips flops, shorts and sun hats....even a few bathing suits...are perfect these days.
Camp Simpson shapes up quickly this year.....pretty far down the beach from our usual spot.
The bug / sun tent is right outside our RV door, and seems a good spot for outdoor dining at its finest!
Sunday at 2:30 and ukulele is happening. At least 8 folks show up for the first jam!
Theresa joined us....and we just happened to have a uke to loan her! See that smile???
There has been a little paddle boarding and a great long kayak one afternoon. Having boats and boards 10 feet from the water's edge makes the decision to go out for a spin easy!
Always waiting....no excuses.....so....maybe right after breakfast???
Or maybe right after the juice man stops by? It's about $1 for a wonderful glass of FRESH juice....your choice: Orange, grapefruit, papaya or pineapple....or a combo?
The tamale lady, Lupe, comes by many days, singing out the word "Tamales!" as she and her son walk the beach. Carlos, Lulu and Jose all come by with good fish, shrimp and scallops. Diego delivers broccoli, green onions, 2 sweet potatoes, 10 limes, 1 romaine lettuce, 1 papaya, 4 bananas,
4 avocados, 4 tomatoes and 1 bunch cilantro on Thursday, and the farm vegetable truck pulls in on Saturday with eggs, onions and more lettuce. No worries on the food front!
Happy Holidays!!
