Oh...how can it be true? The date has come. We are really preparing to leave...and, yes, actually leaving.

Yum!

One last jalepeno cheese bread delivered by Lupe. I am rewarded for asking for it so often!
He makes the BEST!
This year we're sharing a storage container with three other beach buddies. Why carry all that "stuff" back and forth from home to the beach? Especially if you are going to Texas "on the way home."? So, the extra propane tanks, the blue boy dump box for black water, the water bottles, the extra beach umbrella and chair, rake and broom...all stay behind in our little corner of Mexican real estate!

Fierce protection dogs....well...anyway... |

Isla Brisa, our rig, looking down from Mex.#1 |
Steve takes one last hike around the beach - highway - old Baja Road - loop. He shoots this photo of Isla Brisa at our beach campsite.
|
"Hug" |
On Saturday there is one last round of hugs as we say our goodbyes....always the hardest part we've discovered. This group of beach buddy campers has become our family away from family...and the beach our home away from home.
|
Some of our 2013 Beach Family |
Steve was trying for a photo....so you won't find him. There are others missing of course as the beach is in a constant state of "come and go."

Mex #1 at a good piece of road |
Saturday, March 9 we manage to leave the beach...stuffing the last of the last of the "stuff" into the rig, on top of the Jeep, into the kayaks, every last nook and cranny full. 12:30 finds us driving tandem out the beach road...I will meet up with Steve at the top of the Santa Rosalita Hill (The Hill from Hell or Inferno)...and we will hitch up there. Then it's on up the Baja...with plans to cross the border sometime around March 14. San Ignacio next stop!
