Party Up!!!

If it's one thing we're not short of on the beach, it's parties.  Any excuse will do....or, heck, who needs an excuse?

There are plenty of Birthday Boys and Girls.  It seems almost everyone that camps on Coyote has a birthday between December and March!  Who knows...maybe some just say so...to get one of those custom cakes from Barb?  When you see her trekking down the beach, cake in hand, you know she's got another target!

While I know the food group pyramid has been revised in the U.S. It's now obvious to me that these are the three food groups for sure...and they all start with "C"....let's see, that would be Cake, Cheetos and Chocolate!!  Yep!  That's it!

Here's Birthday Girl Glenna and Wayne back in January.

Then, everyone wants to have a turn at wearing the special Happy Birthday Tierra and...wait for it...this year we added the Sunglasses!!!  (The Tierra has made the round for three years now!!). (We also have had a crown with flashing lights go missing.  How?)

Steve and I have added a serenade (some would say gift) of a Forever Young and Happy Birthday combo.

Pedro in all his glory...or some of it...February 6th!

Some prefer a more low key celebration...so they sneak away on an overnight camp out...or slip out on the water with a paddle board.

Hey, what's this?  A blue birthday cake "regifted"???  Happy Birthday, Barb!

Ah, then Mardi Gras happens...might as well have a fund raiser (translate....party) for the local firefighters and ambulance crews.  There is a donated fire truck, waiting to be importated at the Tijuana border....for a fee of $450.00 USD....

Of course, we had to help out the cause by attending!  Here are a few disguised friends.

Casa Hogar, a special home for kids in Mulege, holds a special place in all of our hearts here on the beach.  This year Laura is keeping 19 children fed, clothed, in school (with required uniforms) safe and happy.  Most of the children live there full time.  A few go home for weekends.   Here are a few pictures from the second annual fundraiser for Casa Hogar.

There is a true Mexican meal provided by local women and then the kids proudly preform several songs for us.

Delicious!! (I eat the posole faster than I can get out the camera!)

Of course we buy t-shirts too!

A post titled "Party Up...." has to include a few photos from 60's Night up at Estrella deal Mar.  Who knew our tie dyed ukulele shirts from Tunes in the Dunes would fit into our Baja life so perfectly??!

Obviously, some folks plan way ahead for this one!!

No surprise...we know ALL the music well!!
So....dance the night away.

Don't forget Valentine's Day!  This yea down here it last three days!  A different restaurant providing a special Valentines menu on Friday the 12th, Satrday the 13th and Sunday the 14th.  We hold it down to TWO!?

Friday the 12th is our first attempt at open mic with our ukulele groupies.  8 ukers actually show up!!

We "WOW" the audience....or, really ourselves!  As in, like "WOW" this actually happened!!

Thinking back on all this...and forward to being back on the island again...it seems we will have to go home for definite R&R from our "vacation months."  Often people say, upon leaning you spend three months on a Baja beach..."What on earth do you DO there?  Don't you get bored?"

Yeah....right. 😎
