Covering Ground!

Four corners - four states....covered!
How can you be in four states at the same moment in time?  Easy...if as true with so much in life, "You are in the right SPOT at the right time!"  That spot?  The geographical place where the corner of four different states touch....Four Corners National Monument...in...um...well, we enter from Arizona...and in one small step we stand in....Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico all at the same moment in time!

Teaching elementary school in Colorado I tell the children about "Four Corners" as it is a special spot in their state!  I think:  I should go there...photograph it...and be able to tell the students about it from a personal story.  Well, it finally happens...only 43 years later.  Hum.

Sparky can't believe his eyes!
Four Corners National Monument
This monument is on Navajo land and a Tribal Park / Monument.  It costs $3.00 per person to visit, and no, U.S. National Park cards do not work here.  We are happy to visit and also find a piece of Navajo fry bread is a must have experience.

Permission granted for a photo of the head cook!

Yum!  But....like elephant ears at the fair?

$5 buys sugar and cinnamon, $8 for cheese, $10 for added beans!
This little detour cost us 6 miles and we slide into Bluff, UT about 7 p.m.  Long day.  Too late today with dogs needing dinner and walking to go to the Cottonwood Steakhouse....but the next day we get a few classic photos of the place we missed...this time.

We'll be back!
Cottonwood Campground - Bluff, UT
Same same...wherever you're a local!

Sparky tries out extra seating

Just right for me!

Boot Hill?  In Bluff!
So it's on to Monument Valley...Navajo Tribal Park and Goulding's RV Park for some Wild West film memoribilia!  Spectacular scenery and a date with John Wayne...coming up!
